When I joined Pampered Chef 20 years ago, I told a friend I’d be happy if I could make $400. I had a toddler at home and I didn’t want to leave her every day and come home at 7 o’clock at night.
What I didn’t know was how much I’d need the flexibility. First, to be home with my daughter. Then, years later, when I went through six surgeries in three years and found out I have a rare blood cancer. A traditional job would have let me go. This business bent around my life, and I still earned the incentive trip and a top sales award along the way.
